About Us
The BDTC serves as "boots on the ground" working to put Democrats into office. Our mission is to promote Democratic values and work together to make a difference. We believe that through civic engagement united by a common goal we can create lasting change.
As an official committee of local Democrats, the BDTC:

Organizes grassroots support to elect candidates

Works for Democratic success at the town, county, state, and national levels

Runs voter registration campaigns and hosts public forums to engage our community.
We are a diverse group that shares a common goal. Our members, friends and allies include long-time residents as well as newcomers to the Cape.
We meet monthly to work on building an active voter base, to achieve outcomes that benefit the whole Barnstable community. Our meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend! Go to our Events page for the upcoming meetings.

HOW WE OPERATE
The Barnstable Democratic Town Committee is an official arm of the Democratic Party. There are more than 300 such committees in Massachusetts. We function under the basic rules of the Commonwealth and the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
Our BDTC is permitted 35 voting members. Members must be registered Democrats residing in the town of Barnstable and are elected every four years.
We are also permitted to have an unlimited number of non-voting associate members who are friends and allies that participate in committees and actively support the work of the BDTC. When there are vacancies on the BDTC, existing members may vote on new members up to our maximum number.
